DAME J. improved her position" steadily to the stretch, responded to strong handling in the drive and disposed of UNSHAKABLE during the last eighth. UNSHAKABLE, a sharp factor from the start, held a short lead when settled in the stretch, but could not hold the winner. SKIP LEVEL, outrun early, came to the outside at the final turn, then closed resolutely under brisk urging. KEE-HO, away alertly, was forced to take up when caught between UNSHAKABLE and BOLO BABE near the upper turn, came again when clear, but could not threaten the leaders. B0L0 BABE gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. BLOSSOM QUEEN began slowly. MIGHTIEST, fractious at the post, could not keep up after breaking alertly. SHASTA MAN, never far back, shook off PADDY D. after three-eighths, held a clear lead when settled in the stretch, but was ridden out to hold his advantage. STAR THORNE, outrun early, moved up boldly when roused near the stretch, then was unable to reach the winner when set down in the drive. STAR LADY lacked early speed, but finished determinedly. KING MALCOLM tired during the late stages. PADDY D. gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. ROYAL CHIEF was done early. TOPIC, never far back, responded readily when set down in the drive, but could not threaten the winner. WHICH GLINT assumed command at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. BEAN POT raced evenly without mishap. SILVER STYLE was outrun. HEMBOSS was never dangerous. ALAFLAG began sluggishly. EPIZAR broke alertly, but could not keep up. WAR TRAIN saved ground throughout, came gamely when roused for the drive, but could not menace the winner. HAY VOY, far back to the final quarter, finished strongly under punishment. GRACE A. was outrun. BULMONT failed to stay after displaying early speed. EASY RHYTHM went to the front nearing the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. TIMANDRA was never a serious factor. BUBBLING EASY, alertly handled, assumed command at once, made the pace under occasional urging, responded to brisk urging during the stretch run and lasted to hold MRS. VALENTI. The latter, a sharp factor from the beginning, raced nearest BUBBLING EASY for the entire trip, came gamely in the drive and was getting to the winner at the finish. CHAPEL BELLS, outrun to the stretch, finished strongly under urging. MAY FLY raced evenly without mishap. ENCHANTING could not keep up. Scratched 21189 Devastating, 116. The latter assumed command early, held a clear lead entering the stretch, was roused, when challenged by SANDSLINGER, but could not withstand the latter. WOW could not threaten the leaders when hard ridden during the stretch run. TAKE WING was never dangerous. HANDY LAD gave way after engaging BULL PLAY to the stretch. ACHANCE had brief speed.
