Plan to Build New Concrete Fireproof Barn at Orleans NEW ORLEANS, La., May 2.— President John S. Letellier and executive vice-president Anthony Pelleteri, of the Fair Grounds Corporation, announced today that a new concrete fireproof barn is to be built at the local track, replacing the structure that burned soon after the close of the 1948-1949 season. The Gentilly Boulevard course officials also stated that a modern streamlined infield mutuel board also is to be constructed. The board will be lower and set so that patrons will have a better view of the racing. Additional wagering facilities are planned for the clubhouse and grandstand betting rings in order that crowding can be eliminated on big days at the Fair Grounds.
