Basile to Ride Contest HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., May 3.— Jockey Mike Basile, who has been riding in good form during the Maryland spring season, has been engaged to handle Contest for the King Ranch in Saturdays running of the 5,000 Dixie Handicap. Contest, who returned to competition during the Havre de Grace meeting, raced extremely well in his two appearances, the last of which was a clever victory over a fairly classy field.
