Special Design Julep Cups Commemorate 75th Derby CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — To properly do honor to the Diamond Jubilee running of the Kentucky Derby the Harry M. Stevens Catering Company will make available to the public on Derby Day a special julep cup. In past years the sale of Kentucky Mint Juleps has been an important one at the Downs, thousands of visitors wishing to sample what is judged by out-of -staters at least, Kentuckys most popular beverage. Persons purchasing a mint julep at the track are entitled to keep the julep cup as a souvenir. The cup this year will be in the nature of "something special" for visitors to take home. It will be adorned on all sides and will include a brief history of the Kentucky Derby, a portrait of Col. Matt J. Winn and a picture of historic Churchill Downs. The Stevens juleps, incidentally, are authentic and are made according to an old Southern recipe. Executives of the Stevens Company here for the race include Joe Stevens, of New York, Otto Luke and William Merkle.
