Most of Derby Starters Get In Short Workouts Trainers Well Satisfied With Physical Conditions of Charges CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — Final training preparations of several candidates for major honors in the Diamond Jubilee running of the famed Kentucky Derby took place here today during the morning hours. For the most part turfmen with Derby entrants are pretty well satisfied that their charges have reached peak form and those horses on the fast track today made excellent physical appearances. Greentrees Capot breezed five furlongs in 1 :03 after reaching the half-mile marker in :50, while Wine List, who is to run coupled with his more illustrious stable-mate, also breezed, but his drill was cut to a half mile, which he accomplished in :50. Lexbrook Stables Lextown, with jockey Jack Richard in the irons, breezed five- eighth in 1:04%, while Johns Joy was sent a half mile in :492/5, breezing. Johns Joy sped the initial three furlongs in :36%. Clifford Mooers Old Rockport, who conquered Olympia in the Santa Anita Derby, breezed a half mile in :48%, pulling up in excellent shape after the short drill. Fred Hoopers Olympia, choice for the big race, breezed five furlongs in 1:00 and reached the half-mile pole in :472/s. Olympia made a good appearance, and trainer Ivan H. Parke expressed complete satisfaction over his colts condition. Woodvale Farms Halt, an improved colt and the winner of the Blue Grass Stakes, breezed five furlongs in 1:01%, while accompanied by a stable companion workhorse. Mrs. Albert Roths homebred Senecas Coin, a rank outsider in the Derby field, worked half a mile in :48%, handily.
