Glissons Suspension Not To Affect Derby Assignment - CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 6. — In an official ruling handed down yesterday by the local stewards, apprentice Gordon Glisson and the veteran reinsman James McCoy were suspended five racing days for rough riding in the seventh race on Wednesday, May 5. Glisson, promising saddlesmith who hails from Winnsboro, N. C, has been contracted to ride Clifford Mooers Old Rockport in Saturdays Diamond Jubilee edition of the Kentucky Derby. However, his recent suspension will in no way affect his Derby status, as, according to Kentucky State Racing Commission rules, all contracts made in advance are not subject to change due to penalties encountered during the time in between.
