SHY GUY raced nearest ARMED until reaching the upper turn, went to the front when roused, then continued gamely under brisk handling and held FREE AMERICA safe. The latter, taken back and sent to the inside before going a quarter, moved up on the outside of SHY GUY for the drive and, closing strongly, was unable to overtake the winner. ARMED went into command at once, made the pace for five-eighths, then faltered when challenged by SHY GUY. DINNER HOUR could not keep up after showing brief speed. TRIER closed a gap when set down for the final test. FAIR ARAB weakened during the late stages. DELIVER could not keep up. DUFFLE failed to stay. STEFAN was never prominent. POLLY W.
