Seay of New York City and formerly of Louisville will have as their Derby guests Senator Mac-Neil Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell of New York City, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Coffman of Palm Springs, Calif. While here, the Seays will be guests of Mrs. Wright Doolan. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel M. McMeekin will give a Derby breakfast at their home. McMeekin is presiding steward in charge of racing at Churchill Downs. Congressman Thomas R. Underwood is flying in from the National capital to be with Mrs. Underwood, their children and guests for the big event. The popular representative from Kentuckys sixth district returns to Washington on Sunday. He is a former secretary and treasurer of the National Association of State Racing Commis sioners and a former secretary of the Kentucky Racing Commission. E. Marvin May and L. B. Wilson, former owners and breeders of Cincinnati, will be guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe T. Goose at breakfast for 20 persons at the Goose residence Derby morning. The Goose Derby breakfast, formerly held at Churchill Downs, has for many years been an entra delight for friends of the former star jockey and Mrs. Goose, who came here for the big race. Mrs. George R. Wendling and Mrs. George Leib are socially prominent New Yorkers here for the Derby. Mrs. Baylor Hickman, wife of the former Kentucky State Racing Commissioner, who returned last week from Jefferson Island, La., where she visited her daughter, Lawrence, is entertaining at Glenview Farm for the familys many Derby friends and guests. McLean Nash of Charleston, W. Va., has as his guests for the Derby week-end, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bailey and their daughter, Virginia, also of Charleston, and his daughter, Mena, and son, Robert. Robert Read, national attorney for the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, heads a large party of sport devotees here from Columbus, Ohio. Coming from Pittsburgh, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Calhoun will view the race from the clubhouse box of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Calhoun, of this city. Peter J. ODonnell, general manager of the Lincoln Fields Racing Association, returns to Chicago over the week-end. Here for the past five days, ODonnell found horsemen very much interested in the program for the 30-day Lincoln Fields meeting opening at Washington Park on May 16. Frank Podesta, manager of the pretentious Almahurst Farm and Mrs. Podesta, moved over from their Nicholasville home to be with Derby guests up from Memphis, former home of the Podestas. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fried-berg for the Derby will include Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wincott, of London, England. Maj. Raymond Millican and Mrs. Milli-can, of Fort Sill, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Wood, of Detroit are guests for the Derby of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Carroll. Reverend John Duffy, of New London, Ohio, his niece, Mrs. Dorothy Vogel of Toledo and Joseph Mulvihill, of Cincinnati, will be guests of Mrs. Robert W. Sax-ton, also of Cincinnati. Saxton, former sports editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer, now heads the racing departments at several Ohio tracks. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Haney, of Columbus, accompanied by Miss Lucille Linn are flying in from Ohios capital city to witness the Derby.
