Murphys Feat Stood Long Time That great Negro rider, Isaac Murphy, won the Derby three times. He won his third Derby in 1891 with Kingman. Predictions were made then that the feat would be difficult to duplicate. But records are made to be broken, as the saying goes, and Murphys record later was equaled and has since been surpassed by Eddie Arcaro.
