Olympia to Seek Withers BELMONT PARK. Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 10. — Trainer Ivan Parke said today that Fred W. Hoopers Olympia would definitely pass up his engagement in Saturdays Preakness, but would be pointed for the Withers Mile, to be run at Belmont Park the following week-end. Parke said that there was no truth to reports that Olympia had cooled out lame following his disappointing race in the Derby, in which he finished a tiring sixth after setting the pace for a mile. "He shipped well and is absolutely sound," Parke said, "but we think that the mile of the Withers, coming a week later, is more suitable now than the Preakness." Olympia has been in steady training, with scarcely a let-up since April, 1948, with air trips to California, Florida, New York and Kentucky during his busy three -year -old campaign.
