Ohio Notes THISTLE DOWN AT RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, May 10. Charles "Chuck" Bang, who handles the "mike" around the Ohio circuit, is handling the public address system at Thistle Down. Bill Hudson, custodian of the jockeys quarters here at Randall Park, reports that he has 200 sets of colors registered here at present and expects about 250 more within the next few days, making a total of 450. Jockey Bobby Watson is riding during the Thistle Down session. Watson, who is a capable rider, is a cousin to the crack jockey of former years, Alfred Robertson. Sixty riders are on hand at present, and they are checking in hourly. Among those who will perform at the Thistle Down meeting to be conducted at Randall Park are E. Danhauer, L. Hust, P. Keiper, A. Lindsey, H. Morgan, E. Hulsen, C. Dorsey, G. Carroll, S. L. Mitchell, H. Miralles, A, Martinez and W. Barrow. Eight hundred horses are registered at the Randall Park course at the moment and horsemen are keeping the staff busy with additional registrations. Schooling of horses is being conducted here daily. The hours are from 7 to 9 a. m. Jockey Jimmy Baird, who rode around Ohio, Lincoln Downs and Wheeling last year where he was the leading rider at that meeting, checked in here over the week-end. He arrived from Providence and will swing into action at this course. One of the better veteran reinsman to be seen in action here this season is Ramon L. Barber. He arrived in time for the beginning of activities here from Sportsmans Park and will ride free lance for the remainder of the meeting.
