PHARME was sent to the front immediately after the start, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating and steadily increased her advantage under brisk handling. MONOLITH raced in closest pursuit of the early pace, but failed to respond when roused for the stretch run. DOUBLE DARED raced evenly from the three-furlong marker to the stands without mishap. CORN FODDER closed willingly under pressure. 0ATKA was outrun. MARBLE FORD lacked speed. MERRYT0WN fell back steadily from a rapid beginning. NIGHT GRASS could not keep up. SIS NADI showed nothing. SWEET COMET made the pace to the furlong marker under steadying restraint, but weakened during the late stages and was put to severe punishment to withstand HAPPY PAT. The latter steadily improved her position to the stretch, closed resolutely when called upon for the stretch run and was rapidly wearing down the winner. POLITICS moved up boldly between horses on the near turn, but lacked a finishing rally. COPPER POT saved ground to no avail. MISS PROSPECT had no excuse. JUNE AYR drifted out badly on the final turn. SLY TIGRESS came back sore*. GOOD LOOK showed his usual early speed, then quit. ROMANCE HILL was outrun. ARROW QUILL tired. JET PATROL gave a dull performance. STUDYING worked her way forward and closed determinedly in a sharp effort. RITA DUGAN failed to stay after setting the pace until inside the stretch. BATTLE AXE tired under punishment. MALVERN had no excuse. IRENE was fractious at the post and displayed good early speed, then quit. JUST FOR LUCK began sluggishly. DUSTY BABE was never dangerous. SISTER CORA raced on the outside £5 of horses the first quarter under restraint, drew out to a clear lead and held VINITA TONEY safe under a strong drive. The latter lacked early speed, was taken to the outside entering the stretch and closed with a rush, being easily the best of the others. HOOT MON had brief speed but had little left for the stretch run. SPEEDY BABY was forced to take up sharply after running a quarter, was taken to the outside and did not seriously threaten thereafter. WINTAG had no excuse. The others were outrun. KING BAY, well ridden, outsprinted the field from the beginning and held TIDY SUM safe in a long drive. TIDY SUM forced the early pace, but could never overtake the winner when hard ridden through the final stages. COUNTESS IN finished resolutely under punishment, but could not gel to the top ones. BEST PROSPECT came out for the drive, but was not good enough. YOUR REWARD was outrun throughout. SOUTHERN PRIDE showed brief speed, but appeared to dislike the underfocting. MERRYMARCH lacked speed as usual.
