j Illinois Notes The two victories Darl Norman needed to bring his total to 40 saddle, triumphs and become a full-fledged jockey were registered by the Indianapolis youth on yesterdays card here. He scored with Mrs. G. H. Emicks Espiritu in the third race and for the same owner piloted Atoka Lad to victory in the eighth race. Angel D. Rivera, who rode last season on this circuit with good success, arrived from Cleveland, Ohio, yesterday. He plans to resume riding with the opening of the Lincoln Fields-at-Washington Park meeting next week. William H. Johnston, president of the National Jockey Club, returned here yesterday from Louisville, Ky., where he witnessed the seventy-fifth running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Violet M. Bidwill, treasurer of the National Jockey Club, also returned from Derby town. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert H. Emick are visitors here from their home in Kansas City, Kan. Mrs. fimicks green and white silks were carried into the winners circle twice yesterday, with Espiritu and Atoka Lad doing the honors. Carl Blair is conditioning the westerners horses. Before leaving today for the Detroit Fair Grounds with a contingent of horses, Bryant H. Wise purchased Mescara and Grey Beard at private terms from H. Su-sini. This pair will be included in the shipment designated for racing at the Motor City track. Mrs. Ollie Spradleys lone colorbearer, Empujon, will be sent to the Detroit Fair Grounds track after this meeting ends Saturday, according to trainer W. C. Spradley. Roy "Boots" Dickerson announced he plans to journey to his home in Miami, Fla., at the conclusion of this session on Saturday. He returns to Chicago to serve as starter with the opening of the Arlington Park meeting opening June 20.
