Phillippis Thigh Fractured SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 10. — The riding career of apprentice Joseph Phillippi received a severe setback this morning as bad luck continued to plague the lad from Indiana. While working a charge of his employer Bruce Mc-Intire, Phillippi was tossed hard into the fence and received a fractured thigh, according to reports received from the Chelsea Memorial Hospital. Phillippi suffered injuries to a shoulder during the latter part of the Miami season. Prior to todays injury the youngster was grounded for 10 days for allowing Sandy Strands Stables Streak of Dawn to interfere with Dukes Gal, causing the only disqualification of the current meeting.
