KITTYHAWK was well placed from the beginning wrested command from the outside approaching the last furlong and, under a hard drive was best. BIRDIE LULLEY outspnnted her field from the start, saved ground much of the way and under a sustained drive through the stretch, could not handle the winner. LITTLE SAINT circled her field when rallvina on the stretch turn and, while not able to menace the top pair, appeared best of the others BY HEART failed to threaten. FLOATING ISLE, hard held while maintaining a forward position for the fjrst nine fences, wrested command from the inside when shaken up soon after clearing the twelfth fence and drew out with ease. NAVIGATE, far back and going easily until the tenth fence, rallied from between horses to take command approaching the last fence, but had nothing left for the drive. POINT BLEU, a forward factor from the beginning, jumped cleanly, but lacked a closing rally. PHIBLANT moved up boldly to take command between calls after the ninth fence, but weakened under pressure in the late stages. SUMMERLIGHT, intimidated soon after the break, quickly recovered and, under a strong ride, wrested command nearing the last eighth and gradually drew out. WISE CUTIE was never far back and raced true, but was not good enough. VANETTA followed in close attendance to the early pace, was in slightly close quarters inside the last quarter and held on fairly well when clear. SPRING VOGUE broke alertly, swerved to the inside sharply in the first sixteenth and gave way under pressure in the last quarter. CALUMNY and BARRACOON were always outrun. MARK HIGH assumed command from the outside soon after leaving the 5 backstretch, raced wide rounding the turn and gave way readily to the winner when challenged, although best * of the others. FLASH OF LIGHT was well placed from the start, raced between horses much of the way, ■ . wrested command a quarter out, but had nothing left when the real racing began. IMPUDENCE was eliminated early.
