Olympia in Impressive Seven-Eighths Workout Speeds Distance in 1:24% in Prep for Withers on Week-End BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 16.— Fred W. Hoopers Olympia, one of the leading candidates for the Withers, the forthcoming week-end fixture, was sent seven furlongs over the main track this morning. The colt, who displayed blazing speed in the Kentucky Derby, was timed for the distance in 1 :24% and the move was an impressive one. He was unaccompanied in the trial, which was one of the highlights of the morning hours. The son of Heliopolis and Miss Dolphin breezed through the first quarter in :22%, and the three furlongs in :34%. He continued this high turn of speed in passing the half-mile marker in :46% and the five furlongs in :59Vs. The six furlongs were tinied in 1:11%. The final furlong was timed in 13 seconds. Through the final furlong he was under steady restraint and it was evident that he could have bettered that time had his rider so elected. Trainer Parke expressed himself as well pleased with the move. Mr. Busher on Sunday morning was called upon for a seven-furlong breeze and he was timed in 1:32% in handy fashion. Conniver, another swift-moving miss, was under light restraint in her seven-furlong trial which was timed in 1:27. These two were looked upon as the highlights of the Sunday morning period.
