William lubb Named Mutuel Director at Narragansett PAWTUCKET, R. I., May 16.— The directors of the Narragansett Racing Association have appointed William Jubb director of the pari-mutuels plant for the coming meeting which gets under way June 8, terminating a long association with the Mort Mahony organization which has been in charge of this department since the opening of the track in 1934. Jubb at present serves in a similar capacity at Gulfstream Park, Fla., where he has been since 1944, and Rockingham Park, N. H. The change is in personnel, however, rather than in system, for Jubb was for some 27 years associated with Mahony in top key positions in the mutuels department at the leading tracks in Florida, Maryland, New York, New England, New Jersey and Chicago. Jubb is a native of Baltimore, Md., and first saw the light of day in that city August. 24, 1897. Barring his war service, his whole career has been fashioned around the thoroughbred race tracks. His permanent home • is now in Miami Beach, Fla. He will report here May 24, in ample time to complete the .necessary arrangements jta this vital department."
