WHITEFORD TET outsprinted the field from the beginning, made the race to the stretch under steady rating and continued on gamely under pressure to prevail over TOLECA. The latter was sent into close pursuit of the early leader on the far turn but could not overtake the leader when called upon for her best effort. CORNER STAR failed to respond when set down for the stretch run. DIAVOLAW was hustled to remain in a forward position and had little left at the finish. HASTY FREEDOMS, well ridden, steadily improved "his position to assume command inside the stretch and, under punishment, was up in the final strides to dispose of LAMBENT. The latter took command between calls midway of the final furlong, then weakened during the late stages and could not hold the winner. SKYANN held a clear advantage approaching the furlong marker, then tired suddenly. PRECEDER came to the inside for the final test and closed with a belated rush.
