FRANK MUNNS was slow to begin but worked his way up steadily to reach a prominent place after going a half and easily overtaking GOLDEN THORN when ready drew away when subjected to punishment in the final sixteenth. GOLDEN THORN was in rather tight quarters after oging three-eighths, then came to the outside to wear down LEAPOLINO and take command, but was not good enough for the winner. DOUBLE WHORL made a strong run nearing the stretch turn but hung in the final drive. DONNA L. raced evenly in the early part then tired. LEAPOLINO showed good speed for six furlongs.
