HAY MOM pressed the pace on the outside, had to be cautiously handled in the drive when bearing in and got the nod. KING WILSON established a clear lead and came to the rail on the backstretch and just missed in a sharp effort. HOWARD DEAR saved ground throughout, made a mild bid in the stretch on the rail and faltered. STAR PRINCE faltered after racing in close attendance of the leaders until midstretch. GOLUPTIOUS was forced to race wide. SPY RING was outrun, as was FLEETING BY. QUIRINUS showed little. SINN FEIN, well placed from the outset, went through on the rail to reach command in the stretch, drew clear between calls in the final furlong and just lasted. BLUE DANUBE was bothered between horses nearing the turn, moved on the outside thereafter, closed strongly and just missed. DICKIE BIRD faltered in the final furlong after vying for the lead. COUNT GALLA swung out slightly entering the stretch and weakened in the closing furlong. BON VICTOIRE had no mishaps. FANCY TALK took up nearing the turn when blocked on the rail by ONE AND ONE and was knocked back sharply at this point. Scratched— 27814 Battle Raider, 122. Overweight— One and One, 2 pounds. IRONY worked her way up between horses, closed well, but was no match for the winner. JUNE KAYE was prominent between horses, took command briefly in the stretch and faltered. TUT-TUT-TOOTIE vied for the lead on the rail and weakened. TROMPETA was forced to race slightly wide while a sharp factor and tired. LA FORTUNA had early speed and gave way. NOTHIRDCHANCE under restraint until the final turn, came out for the drive and finished resolutely. GORGEOUS REDED vied with VULCANIA for the lead on the outside and, tiring in the drive, lasted for third. The latter made the pace on the rail and lacked a closing rally. SIGNAL broke in a tangle. TUFFEROO was within striking distance under restraint until the far turn, went through on the rail in the drive and took over in the late stages. SEGMENT gained a clear advantage and came to the inside midway of the first turn, drifted out slightly through the drive and lasted for the place. DANS CHANCE, pinched back slightly on the first turn, challenged on the outside in the stretch but was not good enough NOVEL REQUEST, hard held early, failed to respond. OVERLAND tired. CAT BRIDGE trailed early, went up between horses entering the stretch and wore down ESCROW in the late stages. ESCROW, never far back, went through on the rail with a rush to obtain a clear lead in the stretch and just missed. MOP UP drew clear and came to the rail on the final turn, swung out slightly entering the stretch and tired. VERTIGO II. went through on the inside in the drive with a belated bid. DEMAVEND had no excuse. HITHERTO threatened boldly between horses and gave way. APPROVAL challenged for the lead leaving the final turn and ran wide, carrying out WOOD-SIDE. ST.
