Offer Clearview Purse In Two Divisions Today The Reef in First Section and Definitely, Mosied in Second JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 7.— A six-furlong dash, styled the Clearview, for three-year-olds, heads tomorrows Jamaica program. This event has been split and will be run as the sixth and seventh races. The sixth is headed by Mrs. Aksel Witch-felds The Reef, while the seventh is topped by Braeburn Farms Definitely and Edwin Holtons Moseid, the trio having to carry 120 pounds because they have won maiden races. The Reef, who had been a beaten favorite in four of his eight starts this year, won his last by a nose from Tripoli on April 28 here. Ted Atkinson, who was in the saddle that day, will be replaced by Warren Mehrtens. Definitely and Moseid have both been beaten since graduating at this meeting. After beating Hoplite and Tripoli, Definitely came back to finish third far behind Knowitall and Powwow. Moseid beat Dictionary and seven others, then was a fairly remote sixth in the race won by Knowitall and was two and a half lengths behind Definitely. The opposition to The Reef in the first division of the Clearview is composed of Quaker Stables Bentrovato, F. W. Hoopers Jet Fleet, William Zieglers Irritate, Maine Chance Farms Colony Date, Manfred Sei-denbergs Miss Lyonors and Sanford Stud Farms Northhampton. The latter showed great promise in his first two starts last year, then displayed little in two more efforts and was taken out of training. The colt finished a respectable third in Black Douglas record debut at Belmont, then scored a clever victory on a sloppy track. He is reported to have been training well. Of the others, Colony Date was narrowly beaten in his last start at Garden State by Tom Q. after a rough trip. Irritate, Bentrovato and Miss Lyonors are making their seasonal debuts, while Jet Fleet turned in a fair race behind Knowitall here last week. Definitely and Moseid, will be trying to concede weight to Herbert Gormleys Duchess D., Maine Chance Farms Graphic, Howell E. Jacksons Due East. M. F. Drink-houses Fanelis Alley and Nelson I. Asiels Quick Deal. Graphic won one race by 15 lengths at Hialeah last winter, but was soundly trounced in his next three races. However, the Alibhai colt has been meeting considerably better opposition than he is asked to face tomorrow and shapes up a logical favorite. Fanelis Alley has been well fancied on several occasions at this meeting, but has been stopping at the eighth pole. However, he finished a half length before Graphic last out. Due East, who was lightly raced last year and beat Bob Considine in his last start, will be making his 1951 debut. Quick Deal stopped in his only local start as though short of work and may improve, while Duchess D. will be making her first start of the year, but beat Quick Deal in her only triumph last season.
