Yildiz Will Keep Engagement In Preakness on May 19 PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 7.— Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords, when contacted this afternoon at her Pittsville, Md., home, stated that, barring further mishaps, the good colt, Yildiz, will be a starter in the rich Preakness on Saturday, May 19. Yildiz was injured on the morning of the Chesapeake Stakes but, according to Mrs. Jeffords, has recovered splendidly and is handling his training schedule satisfactorily. Trainer Oscar White, who is campaigning at Garden State Park, could not be contacted. The field for the Preakness was lessened by one, however, when it was learned that J. J. Colandos Uncle Miltie, a supplemental nominee, would not be ready in time to fulfill his engagement. The source of the information was farm manager Steve Co-lando, son of the owner and brother of trainer A. C. Colando.
