Eight Sophomores In Louisville Dash All Sable Shoulders 120 in Count Fleet Purse; Shaffer Entry Seen Main Threats CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., » May 7. — With the Kentucky Derby out of the way at this ancient Falls City racing , grounds, the Count Fleet Purse, six furlongs for three-year-olds, is to headline tomorrows card. Eight of the better class I sophomores are entered in the sprint and I John Marschs All Sable, a good .Florida performer this year, may go to the post the favorite over his rivals. Douglas Dodson, , who has done considerable riding for the i Chicago-owned Marsch Stable, is to guide All Sable in the Count Fleet. Under the allowance conditions of the headliner, All Sable is to take up 120 i pounds, while Max Marmonsteins Sonny M. gets in the dash with 117 pounds. The balance of the overnight field is made up of A. L. Birchs Grandmas Day, Charlton Clays Lyceum, Miss Candice Shaffers Blue Point. Mrs. E. E. Dale Shaffers Creep Mousie, Raymond Ankenbauers One Twelve, and Augustus and Nahms Bourbon River, each pegged at 112 pounds. Creep Mousie and Blue Point are to race coupled in the Shaffer entry, which will be saddled by trainer H. H. "Pete" Battle. Mounts in Race Tommy Barrow is to guide Grandmas Day, Darrell Madden is to be astride Blue Point, Ken Church drew the mount on One ; Twelve, Jimmy Boucher is to be up on J Bourbon Blaze and Madden also is named 1 for Creep Mousie. All Sable, a son of Free For All and Sable Lady, earned brackets the first time he appeared under silks, driving to a game graduation victory over a fair field of sophomores at Hialeah on February 27. | In his next four Florida starts, the Marsch t colt was in the money on each occasion and his morning trials have been on the J quick side, although he was beaten here ; April 28. One Twelve, who made his first 1951 start here inaugural day, displayed good speed, but finished third behind Calumet Farms Jennie Lee and Dixianas Astro. The Ankenbauer filly was a good winner last year and she may prove a tough horse ; to whip in the Count Fleet. Lyceum turned in a good performance , opening day in the Misstep Purse, finishing third behind Baluster, from the W. Arnold Hanger stable, and Mrs. H. J. Damms Romanda. The homebred daughter of Bull ! Lea and Colosseum, made her 1951 debut in the Misstep and she had high speed [ during the earlier furlongs, indicating that she might have needed the race on that ! occasion. No rider was named today for | Lyceum by trainer J. Price Sallee. Several fair supporting attractions are , : programmed for tomorrow and the best of these is the five furlongs fourth, which is 1 to match a half dozen of the quicker two-year-olds. Brown Hotel Stables Balsa, a 1 recent visitor to the local winners ring, • probably will be the choice over Sky Tiger, Sandtop, Sunny Deuce, Lacuna, and Enthused in the juvenile dash. The Downs strip was muddy for todays ; training period but a bright sun and stiff f breeze were rapidly drying out the footing. The track at the Central Avenue course . should be no worse than good for the i Tuesday sport, which will get under way at the usual hour, 2:00 p. m.
