. i Undefeated Star-Enfin Faces Dozen Polly Drummond Rivals Miss Nosoca, Risque Ma and* Chrisinda Will Dispute Issue With Daughter of Star Pilot By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 12. — Headed oy Brae Burn Farms undefeated Star-Enfin and Cary C. Boshamers Rancocas Stakes winner, Miss Nosoca, the fourteenth nirining of the 0,000 Polly Drummond Stakes has attracted 13 juveniles to dash five furlongs. This years Polly Drummond field is a classy one and includes the following lassies: Mrs. William J. Lee,. Jr.s, Chrisinda, Mrs. John D. Hertz Risque Ma, Circle M Farms Gee O Gee, Frank E. James Changeling, Edward M. OBriens Isograde, Hal Price Headleys Papoose, W. L. Mc-Cues Honey-Kist, Cedar Farms Time for Fun, Collins Crowthers Flying Polly, C. R. Valentines Valleys Luck and Alan T. Clarkes Helen Maisel. Three-Time Victress Star-Enfin, a daughter of Star Pilot, has faced the starter but three times and on each occasion has returned to the winners circle. She graduated from the maiden ranks by beating Risque Ma, then came back to win two other overnight races, each time as an odds-on choice. She had never been sent around a turn until this morning, but she took to her task kindly and was timed three furlongs in :36 over a good track. Warren Mehrtens, who won the Christiana earlier in the meeting with The Pimpernel, will handle trainer George Strates charge. j I The Rancocas Stakes was the maiden victory for Miss Nosoca following a second Continued on Page Thirty-Three Star-Enfin Faces Dozen Foes in Polly Drummond Unbeaten Filly Goes at Delaware Aaginst Miss Nosoca, Risque Ma Continued from Page One and a third. She then came back to win over this track, while dashing five furlongs in :59k. She is the leading gleaner in the field, having earned 7,150 during her four-race campaign. This Vincentive filly will be handled by Frank Bone, who. has displayed excellent saddle form locally. Chrisinda, a fleet daughter of Vejete, has raced but three times and boasts a pair of victories, the most recent of which was over this track. That effort, which saw her score by seven lengths in 1:00% over a good strip, followed a second to Cigar Maid in the Fashion Stakes. She will be at a disadvantage insofar as post positions are concerned, for she breaks from the extreme outside in the 13 -horse field. She will have the services of an excellent two-year-old rider, however, in Jimmy Nichols. Risque Ma and Isograde are invaders from New York, where they compiled impressive records, while Papoose last raced in the Rancocas at Garden State and was a bit more than six lengths behind Miss Nosoca. Risque Ma, after being second and third in her first two starts, earned graduation papers with a seven-length score following which she was second to Cigar Maid in the filly division of the National Stallion Stakes. Isogrades lone victory in three starts was over Risque Ma. Changeling and Gee O Gee seem to rate above the others in the Polly Drummond. Changeling, like Miss Nosoca, is a daughter of Vincentive. .Following a poor debut, she won three of her four starts, bowing only to Pintor in track record time at Pimlico. She was a winner here on May 30, coming out of the race with bucked shins. Gee O Gee, a Blenheim n. filly, made her debut here recently and was an easy winner in 1:00% over a good track. The only other winners in the field are Time for Fun and Flying Polly. The latter won at Pimlico and was second to Chrisinda in her last start. Time for Fun graduated at first asking in Florida and made her next start on the first day of June over this track, tiring as though in need of the effort. Honey-Kist, Helen Maisel and Valleys Luck are maidens. Honey-Kist was beaten a neck at Keeneland and in her only other start was second here to Mae West. Valleys Luck raced under a ,500 claiming tag in her last, while Helen Maisel has not faced the starter. She was entered when *her more illustrious companion, Jeannie C. failed to get to the race when her training was interrupted. The supporting attraction tomorrow is the ,500 Montchanin Handicap, which will be having the third of five runnings during the meeting. The current point-standing is 30 for Mrs. E. H. Augustus* Loran and 24 for Keystone Stables Tus One, and both are entered tomorrow for the mile and a quarter- running. They will be opposed by Fifty-Five, Free Press, Service Pilot, Jitters, Broken Lens, Butler, Quemadito and June Prince.
