SLIPPER SATIN gradually worked way forward, responded to punishment during the stretch run, and, after racing by LEADING MAN, won going away. PLAY EDA, away sluggishly and outrun early, saved qround at the stretch turn, closed fast and dead-heated with SLAMANATH for second. The latter, never far back, held on well to the stretch, was forced wide by ARIEL SWEEP at the final turn, but closed fast to be on equal terms with PLAY EDA at the finish. ARIEL a SWEEP, a sharp factor from the start, bore out entering the stretch and could not get to the leaders when straightened for the drive. LEADING MAN was sent to the front early, made the pace to the last eighth, then p weakened. WHAMMO had a rough trip. BICKETT was outrun. CORINNE T., on the inside — throughout, raced nearest BOLD SAB from the start, but could not reach the latter when set down In the drive. LADY POMP drifted out at the final turn, but finished well enough to withstand PALLIS ROYAL. The -latter lacked early foot and could not get to the leaders when hard urged through the stretch. MYRMIDON, on the inside from the start and well handled, assumed command after racing by SOME TOWN during the stretch run, then held on gamely to withstand CHIEF JOHN 0. The latter, racing in improved form, was steadied to the stretch, responded to punishment during the drive and was getting to the top one at the finish. SOME TOWN went to the front «?rly. was much used engaging BLUE BADGE for five-eighths mile, then faltered when challenged by MYRMIDON. CHANCEL0T failed to rally when set down for the drive. UNCLE BIM was never a serious factor. PIL0GY was through early. BLUE BADGE raced with SOME TOWN to the last three-eighths mile, then quit. Scratched— 30114 Excel Lad, 114. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. URGENT, outrun to the last three-eighths mile, responded to punishment during the stretch run and wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth. BUMBASH00T was forwardly placed from the start, reached the lead after disposing of DUSTLIGHT, but could not withstand the winner. DUSTLIGHT assumed command at the start, made the pace until inside the stretch, but faltered when challenged by BUMBASH00T. GAY SENORITA reared at the break, moved into serious contention nearing the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. D0NNA-D00N was never dangerous and had no excuse. " COUNTRY EDITOR tired after displaying early speed. OATKA was far back throughout. REBATE was unfit to go the distance. Scratched— 29593 Zero, 110. Overweight— Oatka, 1 pound.
