Cubs Blow Four-Run Lead To Lose to Phillies, 6-5 By the United Press J The Cubs blew a four-run lead today as the Philadelphia Phillies eked out a 6 to 5 victory before 9,289 fans in Wrigley Field. Dee Fondys third homer of the season and three more Cub runs disposed of Russ Meyer. The North Siders scored another off Milo Candini in the fourth, but" Jim Konstanty took, over from this point and limited the Cubs to but one hit in five innings. Frank Hillers departure in the fifth inning was followed by a procession which included Paul Minner, Cal McLish and Dutch Leonard, but neither side scored again after the Phillies had taken the dead in the fifth inning. The Cubs had built up their four-run margin through a home run in the first inning by Fondy and a three-run outburst in the third. Five successive singles in the third ended Meyers chore for the day. The Phils went to "work on Hiller in the fourth for two runs on three hits and then knocked him out while scoring four more in the fifth with the aid of only two hits. There was an error by Fondy, however, two walks and a wild pitch. Dick Sislers single off Minner, the relieving pitcher, brought home two of the runs.
