TRICIA FISKE raced in contention from the start and responded to pressure to wear down POES POEM. The latter was. hard pressed early, disposed of TREAT, but was unable to resist the winner. DAINTY STAR made up ground in the late stages. MEMORIZE was slow to settle into stride and fiqures to improve. TREAT, much used in an effort to wrest command from POES POEM, faltered badly. DONS GOLD displayed speed and weakened. GINOWAY raced forwardly placed and gave way. CENSORSHIP, sluggish early and forced to pick his spots while rallyina, closed fastest of all. ASCOT, always formidable, attained a slight lead briefly through the stretch and gave way, finishing in a dead-heat with CENSORSHIP. SQUEAL lacked a rally. GRAY RAIDER is likely to improve. FOR RENT held a slight lead rounding the turn and quit. REWING showed nothing. HARD TO GET, under hustling tactics to attain a slight lead leaving the backstretch, drew clear in the early stretch and retained her advantage. BRCWN FOX, formidable from the start, held on gamely. FREE AND EQUAL raced forwardly placed from the start, but lacked a rally. HYOPOLIS, outrun early, circled the field and closed fastest of all./WMTE HAWK v/as slow to reach best stride and was in close quarters nearing the end. LARRY DOOLEY could not keep up. SEABRIGHT raced with the pace through the first half mile, responded to pressure when PADDYS HAT drew clear nearing the stretch, was eased to the outside and wore his rival down in the final stride. PADDYS HAT alternated in setting and pressing the early pace, drew clear when roused nearing the stretch, but was unable to stave off the late bid of SEABRIGHT. AMERICAN NED was always formidable, but hung in the drive. ZEELAND failed to improve his position. ARABIA lacked a rally. BULL HYDE showed nothing. LEADING HOME disposed of ISTAN ; after being hard pressed by that one for a half mile, gave way to MAHOON through the stretch, then came rn again to earn the decision. MAHOON improved his position from the outside to wrest command and gave way in the late strides. Nashs claim of foul against the winner for alleged interference leaving the gate was not j£ allowed. CHLOE, shuffled back early, moved well when roused and turned in a good effort. ADOPT, sluggish JJ as usual early, was rallying nicely when he moved in behind horses during the stretch run. REPETOIRE moved through along the inside to assume command along the backstretch, drew clear steadily on the turn and retained his advantage under mild urging SENATOR JOE, in front from soon after the start, gave way before completing the opening quarter, was unable to stay with REPETOIRE, but held the others safe. ALERTED, slow to settle into stride, was taken up sharply leaving the three-eighths pole and failed to menace thereafter. DEFINITELY raced , forwardly placed and weakened. KORITZA could not keep up.
