Repetoire Back in Best Form at Delaware Park Defeats Senator Joe and Alerted To Indicate Readiness for Kent DELWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 12.— Mrs. Nora A. Mikells Repetoire reaffirmed his superiority over Alan T. Clarkes Senator Joe and Hampton Stables Alerted when he downed those colts this afternoon while racing six furlongs in 1:11, flat, to account for the featured Limestone Purse. Having enjoyed a respite from competition since his rather dull performances in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, the chestnut son of HappyArgo and My Hattie was a sharp three-year-old when he met the opposition at his preferred distance this afternoon. Not only did he score by two lengths under Fernando Fernandez and as a .20 favorite with the crowd of about 10,000, but he gave the impression of being the one to beat in the 5,000 Kent Stakes to be renewed on Saturday, June 23. Repetoire was without the services of Pete McLean for the first time this season. A series of developments having placed that veteran rider aboard Alerted. Fernandez handled Repetoire perfectly, however, and probably will return to the saddle in the Kent. Fernandez had Repetoire off alertly, although placed last in the official call. The field was separated by less than a half length at the break, with Repetoire moving through immediately from his inside position and wresting command before the opening quarter mile had been completed. Able to save ground into the turn and rounding the bend, Repetoire shook off the persistent Senator Joe after a half mile. Once having disposed of "the Senator," Repetoire had very little trouble, with Fernandez electing to play it safe and keeping trainer Al Jensens charge under mild urging.
