SPY RING began sluggishly, was forced to race wide on the turn and wore down the leader in the late stages. GOLUPTIOUS was a sharp factor between horses, was forced out slightly leaving the turn and finished gamely. MAXIMAL went up steadily to reach the lead in the stretch, but was not good enough. REVENGER had no excuse. UNDER ORDERS went by tired horses with a belated bid. MID REWARD gave way after making the pace for a half mile. BARWAR was shuffled back on the inside nearing the turn. APENNINE broke fast, then dropped back suddenly. SWORDS POINT bobbled 3t the tenth Jump and finished with good courage. SYRACUSE LAD was prominent throughout, but faltered slightly in the finish run. WEATHER DECK quit. PROSPECT broke slowest, swung out for the drive and closed best of the others. JET FLEET was. forced to lose ground on the turn while prominent and faltered in the drive. ALL IS WELL saved ground while moving up to be closest to the pace and lacked a rally. EASY WHIRL lost all chance when blocked at the furlong pole. TOP LEVEL ran well until midstretch and gave way. STUNTS, under restraint while making the pace, was called upon entering the stretch and faltered slightly nearing the end. IRRITATE improved position from the outside to reach the lead, came in when clear Just inside the furlong post and lasted over GRAY MATTER. The latter went between horses nearing the turn, had to be placed in hand while blocked and, hemmed in rounding the turn, came out entering the stretch and. moved up to be on nearly even terms for the lead, loafed twenty yards from the finish, then came again in the final stride to Just miss. DULAT was always prominent, but shortened strides in the final furlong. BIG INDIAN had to be hard held while blocked on the rail on the turn, then failed to respond in the drive. JUMP FOR JOY trailed for a mile, raced wide improving position and was getting to the winner. FIRST DEGREE, unhurried early, went up between horses and finished with good courage. DEMAVEND, away sluggishly, tired after making the pace until leaving the final turn. FISH FRY threatened boldly when called upon and gave way.
