Penn Declares Fusari-Turner Winner Top Welter Contender PHILADELPHIA, Pa., June 12 UP.— Blond Charley Fusari, Irvington, N. J., and Gil Turner, Philadelphias unbeaten welterweight, signed contracts today for a 10-round bout at Shibe Park next July 9. Turner won his 21st consecutive professional fight last night when he stopped Rudy Zadell, Pittsburgh, in five rounds. It was his 19th .knockout victory. The Shibe Park bout will be promoted by Herman Taylor. John "Ox" DaGrosa, Pennsylvania State Athletic Commissioner, said at the signing ceremonies that Pennsylvania would recognize Turner as the logical welterweight contender if he defeated Fusari.
