Connors Corner By "CHUCK" CONNORS Chief of Chart Correspondents— BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 12. — The Queens County Jockey Club, operators of Aqueduct, through its official family this year will display a modicum of local pride. Heartened by the enthusiasm displayed by the Aqueduct residents when a horse trained over that track won a stake at another track, the house flag was hoisted to the peak of the tallest staff atop the grandstand and flown throughout the next day. During the summer meeting which follows Belmont Park something else will be added. Two flag poles about 50-feet high, located on each end of the "tote" board in the center-field, will be .erected next week. From one will be flown the national emblem while the other will be the daylight post of the Aqueduct house flag. This flag, following the success of an Aqueduct owned and trained horse, will be lowered and raised again, that is when the race is made official. The band will play an appropriate number which in time will become the theme song of the association. The Derby has My Old Kentucky Home, the Preak-ness, Maryland, My Maryland, the Belmont, the Sidewalks of New York, but the Queens County Association has a wide choice in the musical scale.
