, May Return to Stake Races HALLANDALE, Pla., June 21. — The 5,000 Gulfstream Park Handicap, which has been run as an overnight handicap for the past several years with no nomination or starting fees, may be returned to full stakes status in 1952, according to president James Donn. Thoroughbred travel north does not accelerate until mid-March, and the Inaugural, Horning and Gulf-stream handicaps, run prior to that date and attractive to the best horses in winter training, may all become added features. Other events on the schedule through a closing April 21 date will likely remain as overnight events, with no nominating charges. Larger and better balanced fields have resulted at Gulfstream Park because of this rule, particularly with many stables shipping north during the early spring.
