RIPPLING HIT, forwardly placed from the beginning, took command with a rush while racing on the outside entering the stretch and, in a long drive, gamely withstood DANCE BAND. The latter saved ground during the early running, was guided to the outside for the drive, but under pressure was not good enough. TAX LIEN rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. BLEU MANTLE, much used early, had little left. ALACASSULA was outrun. DINGHAU retired steadily after possessing brief speed. RUTH MURPHY quit. WIGGINS went to the front immediately after the start, drifted out while tiring during the stretch run and, after forcing STORMY WATERS wide during the late stages, maintained a clear advantage over the latter. STORMY WATERS, carried out during the final furlong by MR. WIGGINS, closed determinedly when straightened. ESPINOS IMAGE closed courageously in a sharp effort. ISLE SEA rallied too late to become a menacing factor. JACFER raced wide. VICTORIA CROSS made up some ground when set down for the drive. EPERC was outrun. IMPERIAL WAR failed to stay. TIMUS, always within striking distance, disposed of BUTFER with a rush on the far turn and continued on gamely thereafter when ridden out BUFFER saved ground next to the rail from the beginning and held on willingly enough to prevail over TWIRLING GIRL. The latter came out for the drive, but was not good enough. GAIL R. closed a gap. JOGGINS was unable to keep up. VIRGINIA DUKE and BLUEBONNET GAL were never formidable. HYPER KSAR showed nothing. JAMMU raced FUSE BOX into defeat to maintain a slight lead rearing the furlong marker and, in a long drive, gamely withstood BOLD FOX. The latter responded readily when shaken up for the stretch run and closed determinedly in a sharp effort. EASY LAD, subjected to punishment on the final turn, was not good enough. FUSE BOX, much used early, had nothing left when set down for the ultimate test. ADMIRAL DON and BLUE WONDER lacked speed. DASHING DON, forced to take up on the far turn, failed to recover. STOP GAP, away fastest, raced in nearest attendance to JUMBO for half a mile, disposed of the latter entering the stretch and, without assistance of a whip and gamely withstood SPUR ON. The latter moved up menacingly on the outside nearing the furlong marker, but appeared to hang during the concluding strides. GRASS FIRE ctosed with good courage and appears ready for a creditable intermediate distance effort. JUMBO faltered when set down for the final test. IGNITION began sluggishly. LIGHT MOON, never far back, came out to the middle of the track to reach the lead inside the stretch and steadily drew clear when subjected to intermittent pressure. RECLINE worked his way forward on the outside, responded gamely when roused for the drive, but was unable to seriously endanger the top one. ANNS FOX gave way suddenly midway of the final furlong. NIGHTMARISH raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. HEAVENLY HASH hesitated at the start, then finished determinedly when hard hustled through the stretch. HOOSIER RELIC quit.
