The majority of the con- % testants have made an appearance in this c area during the past few weeks, and, there- r fore, it should not be too difficult for the t * speculatively inclined to obtain a fairly good line on their qualifications. The high- weight of the event, with 120 pounds, is i Irish Flare, from the Reverie Knoll Farm, whose last endeavor failed to produce much. Then there is March Proudly, owned by Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Holman, who was second in the race in which Irish Flare was unplaced, and Mrs. Emil Denemarks Mr. Nealie, who was fourth in the same event. Favoritism in the Palatine may be drawn by either Adams Off Ox, Two and Six, or Lady Indian. The latter, who ran for a ,500 claiming price shortly after her arrival in Chicago, is an improving and fast-finishing filly. Adams Off Ox, in his last outing dusted off Astro, who was fourth in that race at the seven-furlong distance, while Two and Twenty, from the Christiana stable, went well to be third back of Nugget Gold and Mr. Nealie. The remaining racer, Dry Run, won a couple of races early in the season. Eligibles for Hyde Park Two-year-olds will perform in a five-furlong dash as one of the supplementary races, and some eligibles for the Hyde Park Stakes to be run next week are in the field. They include Academy Award, owned by Edward P. Rodriguez, Gaylord, from the stable of O. W. Lehmann, and Playman, from the Reverie Knoll Farm. Two youngsters from the western stable of Rex Ellsworth are also listed as well as a pair owned by Lucas B. and Brownell Combs. The latter duo are on the "also-eligible" list, as are Blue Licks and Busy Fox, both well regarded by their connections. The smallest band of the day will participate in the fourth race, for which but six names have been submitted. Master Mind and Syndicate, who ran second and third, respectively, in a race won by West-hampton on opening day, are certain to attract a measure of support, while others are Signal Code, Brilliance, Kay Gibson and Tattenham. The daily turf race, which will close the bill, will be over the mile and a sixteenth distance and has an overflow field, as have the first, second, fifth and seventh races. .■jl
