JOY K. drifted in while directly behind the first flight in the opening stages, took command midway of the stretch and gradually drew away. MARCH BROWN was prominently placed on the inside and held on well in a good effort. BEWITCHING broke slug-glishly, moved between horses when gaining best stride, then faltered slightly in the drive. FONDEST lacked speed. STAGE LOVER was a sharp factor early and weakened. DOVER DOLL ran with the first flight while on the inside and tired. RAMBLING MARY pressed the pace on the outside, could not match strides in the stretch, overtook the tiring pacemaker midway of the concluding furlong and outgamed IRONY. The latter was a sharp factor from the start, went up to threaten in the stretch and held on determinedly, but was not good enough. FANCY BONNET made the pace on the rail and weakened in the last sixteenth mile. BAY HASH closed with a rush after trailing far back early. TEN STONE had no excuse. TINA LAZAR raced slightly wide and tired. HEAD FOR HOME showed little. ROYAL QUEEN was prominent on the rail and quit suddenly. Scratched— 57438 Muscidae, 115. BYNG, reserved while not far off the leaders, took command when called upon and drew away under brisk urging until the end. MANTLE saved ground while steadied and in a good position, moved between horses to loom a sharp threat, but was no match for the winner. SYRACUSE LAD was always prominent and weakened through the final run. ROLL CALL II. gave way as if short of a top performance and should improve. PALAJA was never a serious factor. BLUE PLATE tired after making a mild bid. SCARE PLAY made the pace, quit badly and came out of the race very lame. FOURTH RACE 4 1-2 FURLONGS Widener straight course. The latter, under light restraint while in close attendance of the pace, took command between calls in the final furlong, but was not good enough. MIGHTY QUEST was prominent throughout and turned in a good effort. SAGITTARIUS weakened in the final furlong after making the pace. SAFETY ran out on the turn. RENEW, unhurried in the opening „ half mile while far back, made up ground on the outside when put to pressure, closed stoutly and wore down VALADIUM in the final strides. The latter, allowed to drop back under restraint, moved up rapidly when called upon, tpok command briefly nearing the end, but could not resist the top one. BLUE MOON improved position on the outside, displaced JUBLING in the stretch and had nothing left for the drive. The latter made the pace until nearing the furlong post and faltered. BUSANDA sulked when hard punished through the stretch TOTO was outrun. THELMA BERGER showed nothing. NEXT MOVE bore in rounding the turn and sulked through the stretch run.
