I., June 4, —Half a dozen of the better two-year-olds occupy the spotlight at Belmont Park tomorrow in the ,000 Colin Purse at five furlongs on the Widener straightaway. At least three of the youngsters engaged. are potential stake stars and currently rank close behind Native Dancer and Tahitian King as the best youngsters seen on Long Island this spring. The trio is composed of W. B. MacDonald, Jr.s Count Trim, Belair Studs Game, Chance and Edward Potter, Jr.sBelfaster. They will be opposed by Ben F. Whitakers Star Request, Sanford Stud Farms Marsh Tiger and George D. Wideners Upstroke. Count Trim is required to carry 117 pounds, most of it Eddie Arcaro, and concedes five pounds to each of his rivals. In his last start, the son of Count Fleet — Decor stepped the fastest four and a half furlongs of the meeting to score handily over W. Goadby Loews Centime, who bracketed that defeat by victories here and in the Christiana Stakes at Delaware Park. In his previous start * Count Trim had finished only a length back of Tahitian King and before that won a dash at Jamaica by half a dozen lengths. Game Chance Won Over Sloppy Track Game Chance, who raced greenly in his two starts here, finished second to Pomposity in his debut, then scored convincingly on a sloppy track on Saturday in a race that was only a fifth of a second slower than Count Trims last. The son of Some Chaiice -Bonnie Beryl attempted to bolt for j the inside fence in that dash, forcing Dave Gorman to take him up sharply. He cant afford that sort of lapse tomorrow, but may have learned a lesson, though some colts never do. Belfaster has been seen in public only once, but came up well fancied in that [ dash on May 17 and merely breezed before a large field, covering the four and a half furlongs in :51% without being extended. The Alquest colt will again be ridden by Ted Atkinson. Belfaster blew out for this engagement with a handy three furlongs in :35% this morning. Upstroke is another with one start and one victory to his credit, but the son of Eight Thirty was under a hard drive to beat an ordinary lot in 1:00% for five furlongs of slop at Jamaica on April 15. Hed-ley Woodhouse will again ride the colt, who was preceded by a reputation that made him favorite for his debut. Star Request became a winner of his only start when Wideners Platan was disqualified after beating him a length and a half in a sluggish :53%. He is a full-brother to Requested and eligible to improve, particularly as he was repeatedly bothered in his debut. Marsh Tiger has had several chances at this meeting, but could not take advantage of them. These colts are all liberally engaged in the stake events to be disputed at Aqueduct and Saratoga.
