Vanderbilt today confirmed reports emanating from Maryland that his stock in the Maryland Jockey Club, operators of Pimlico, was for sale. He added, "Ive been in the Pimlico picture for 17 years, and Ive about run out of ideas." Vanderbilt said that he -was withdrawing from Pimlico because, "I dont live there any more and I hardly ever get to the races there," and made it clear that his decision .was not due to any difference or disagreement with other directors and stockholders.
