i j Poopcha Drives to Wire In Advance of Triple Time Brennan Has Mount Half Length On Top in Suffolk Downs Dash By AVERY BROWN Staff Correspondent SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., une 4. — Poopcha, sporting the silks of [A. W. Hall, received a rousing ride from the veteran pilot, Jimmy Brennan and drove to a half-length score in the featured Bostonian Purse at Suffolk Downs today. Mrs. B. F.- Listers Triple Time was second, well clear of Mrs. M. Bartons Man Bar. The heavily backed entry of S. D. McGills Keeping Posted and King Ranchs Closed Order wound up fourth and sixth, respectively. Ideal weather prevailed at this seaside oval for the second straight day, luring 10,896 for the afternoons sport. While three favorites were scoring in the earlier events, the McGill-King Ranch entry failed in the Bostonian, with the lucky few wagering on Poopcha receiving 9.40. Triple Time was sent to the front of the six-furlong dash as the field left the chute and wended their way down the backstretch in the feature. Poopcha was right "at the leaders throat-latch, but Brennan took off slightly and waited for the final quarter mile to do his running. Charley Burr, astride Triple Time, wasted no ground as he guided the Bull Brier miss along the rail entering the lane and for a while it appeared as though the game miss would sustain the stretch threat. Brennan was not to be denied, however, and kept after Poopcha with all his force and the Carrier Pigeon colt finally reached the lead with yards to go. Triple Time had no trouble saving the runner-up award. Keeping Posted was not off too alertly and apprentice Tony DeSpirito moved him early to gain a position about two lengths off the pace before reaching the bend out of the backstretch. Meanwhile, Closed Order was well placed on the outside. Neither made an impressive move when roused near the quarter pole and the attention was focused on the two dueling leaders for the remainder of the trip.
