A Jaxson Annexes Anahuac Stakes at Mexico City MEXICO, D. F., May 25.— A Jaxson, a • ,600 yearling purchase by Guy E. Daniels last year in California, won the Anahuac Stakes here Sunday afternoon in a driving finish from Justo Fernandez Temerario , and Cuadra San Luis Chayotero as well as eight other two-year-olds, the cream of local juveniles. Given an almost perfect ride by Rodolfo Aviles, the son of Ajax — Coramine, while weakening in the stretch, held on to garner a neck decision from the fast-closing I Temerario. The latter was also a neck be- ; fore Chayotero. The winner forced the early pace made • by La Ruleta but drew away to nearly a • two-length lead entering the stretch, held his good margin to the final 70 yards I when he gave way suddenly. The second L and third horses were lapped an eighth L from the finish but Temerario outgamed I Chayotero. t Finishing in the rear of the three leaders L and in order were El Rumor, Cilonico, I Huecitos, La Ruleta, Doquesa, Chicuelero I and Pajaro Azul. The race grossed ,478. - and netted owner Daniels ,919. Time for the race was 1:00.
