Gilbert Haus. The race will have its sixteenth running on July 4, closing day of the local tracks 32-day meeting which gets under way Friday, and will provide members of the distaff division with their first exclusive shot at a "Hundred-Grander" — something which has been widely acclaimed by breeders, owners and trainers. The added money value of the event has been doubled this season, and the number of nominees tops last years total by 17. Also significant is the fact that an unusually large number of three-year-olds were named this season — 26. In the 15 previous runnings, only four sophomores managed to defeat older rivals. The New Castle is expected to gross more than 20,000 and net the winner in excess of 4,000 — which, of course, will be determined by the number of starters. Jeffords Named Delaware Director Walter M.
