Stewards Rulings BEULAH PARK, Grove City, Ohio. May 25. β€” The stewards today issued the following rulings: "Jockey Paul Herron is suspended for 10 racing days, May 26 to June 5, inclusive, for rough riding in the fifth race, May 23." "Sale of the horses, Spanish Quest and Magic Empire, by E. Schaeffer to W. S. Gessinger, of Toledo, Ohio, is hereby authorized, and the horses, Spanish Quest and Magic Empire, restored to good standing." FAIRMOUNT PARK, CoUinsville, 111., May 25. β€” The stewards here issued the following ruling, dated May 22, 1953: "Jockey B. Bennett is suspended for 10 racing nights, effective Tuesday, May 26, 1953, through June 6, 1953, both inclusive, for not keeping a straight course and impeding the horse, Arthur Elrod, during the stretch run of the ninth race, Friday night, May 22. Jockey Bennetts mount, Honey Bear, was disqualified from first position and placed second. HAWTHORNE, Cicero, 111., May 25. β€”In a ruling here today, the stewards suspended jockey Darrell Madden for 10 racing days, May 27 to June 6, inclusive, for rough riding in the seventh race of May 23. SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass.. May 25. The stewards issued the following ruling:" Jockey Vernon Smith is suspended 10 racing days May 26-June 5, inclusive for allowing his mount Miss Cross to come over and impede Claire Dauber in the run through the stretch in the second race, May 23." WOODBINE PARK, Toronto, Ont., May 25. β€” The stewards posted the following rulings: "Jockey Roy Otis is suspended for five days, May 27 to June 1, inclusive, for careless riding in the fifth race on Saturday, May 23. "Apprentice jockey Leonard Pong is suspended for five days, May 27 to June 1, inclusive, for careless riding in the fourth race on Saturday, May 23."
