Mass., I May 25.— The greatest array of handicap! J stars who could be mustered together in j the East have been made eligible for the , 0,000 added Massachusetts Handicap to be run at Suffolk Downs on June 10. • Thirty-three have been nominated for thep nineteenth running of the mile and a| j quarter fixture. The list includes Mrs. W.:| M. Jeffords* One Count, voted Horse of thej | Year in the annual poll conducted by Daily : Racing Form-The Morning Telegraph Tri-f angle Publications; Greentree Stables j Tom Fool, Mrs. E. duPont Weirs Royal Vale, Brookfield Farms Intent, C. V. Whit-! neys Cold Command, the latter quartet . finished in the order named in last Sat-j urdays Metropolitan Handicap at Bel-; mont; A. G. Vanderbilts First Glance. D. J. Schneiders Elixir, King Ranchs High Scud and To Market, last years winner of the Mass and Joe Gavegnanos Joey Boy. Other Stars Made Eligible Add to the above list, such lesser lights as Green trees One Hitter, the 1951 winner of the event; Jake Lingles Larry Ellis, the pride of New England; T. P. Morgans Grover B., Jam Beatties Park Dandy and Good Shot, Jack Amiels Count Turf and Mr. Turf and Ogden Phipps Ancestor and Suffolk appears to have the best in the handicap ranks from which to attract the field in post-war years for the big event of the Massachusetts season. The thirty-three nominations received were accompanied by a fee of 00 and it will cost another 50 to start in the Mass Handicap. Weights for the race will be released by racing secretary "Eb" Pons after 5 p.m. on Monday, June 1. After the publi-| cation of weights, a winner of 5,000 will be penalized three pounds. Of the total fees plus the added 0,000, the runner-up gets 0,000, ,000 to the third horse and ,500 for finishing fourth, with whats left going to the winner. Plans are already under way to make this years Massachusetts Handicap day the most interesting ever offered to patrons of this East Boston plant.
