Native Dancer Drifls Seven Furlongs in 1 :27Vs at Belmont BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 22. — Alfred G. Vanderbilts gray three-year-old champion, Native Dancer, showed on Sunday morning that he retains his splendid condition by breezing, seven furlongs in 1:27% under a snug hold. The son of Polynesian, whose next engagement is in the 0;000 Dwyer Stakes on July 4, reeled/off the" fractions in :26%, :51 and 1:14%, fighting for his head. In the absence of Jamie K., who was not made eligible, it is difficult to guess just who will oppose Native Dancer in the Dwyer, though the champion will have to concede from four to a dozen pounds to the field. It is possible, though not likely, that todays Shevlin may produce a rival. Of the eligibles with genuine credentials, Dark Star, Correspondent and Invigorator are on the sidelines with assorted injuries, while Royal Bay Gem is believed to have chased Native * Dancer for the last time, until autumn, at least. That leaves Tahi-tian King, who will receive eight pounds, as the most likely "name" possibility.
