PATMO gradually worked way forward, reached the lead between calls during the drive, but could not withstand the top one. ROSA CLAIRE, outrun to the stretch, finished strongly under punishment. FIRE lacked early speed, closed willingly when set down in the drive, but could not overtake the leaders. NOSE DIVE gave a fair effort and had no mishap. JANES JANE moved up boldly in the early stretch, but failed to stay. DONQUEST began slowly. TICK-RICK, rank during the post parade, showed nothing in the running. COLETOWN PILOT went to the front early, set the pace until inside the stretch then gave way. PLASTIC MISS showed nothig. SIR TINT had early speed, but failed to stay. The latter began fast, made the pace inside the stretch, then could not stay with the winner and pulled up lame. MAIN SPEAKER raced evenly to the stretch, closed well under urging but could not threaten the top pair. TOP PRETTY had early speed, drifted out at the stretch turn and tired during the drive. WELL MET lacked early speed, reached the lead between calls during the drive but could not withstand the winner. NOCALLULA, well handled, gave a good effort and had no excuse. BROAD CROSS, a sharp factor from the start, took command approaching the stretch and settled for the drive with a clear lead, then weakened. TIS JOE tired after showing early speed. ARIZONA K was outrun. CARDINAL LADY began fast but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the start. SILENCE, hustled to the front before going a quarter mile, quit. Overweight— Silence, 2 pounds. -
