ROSE BOUQUET had good speed from the start and, although headed by R U THERE Hearing the far turn, remained close to the latter and outfinished her in a hard stretch drive. The latter drew out slightly after taking command and, although showing good form in the stretch, was unable to last. DARK PIGEON lacked early speed, but "closed much ground. LADOLEE failed to threaten, but was racing steadily at the finish. COAL HEAT saved ground to get to the front, and drawing away from the others around the stretch turn, opened up a lead of several lengths and was not in danger in the stretch turn. SERVICE was slow to get in stride and was badly outrun for-half the distance, but came strongly in the stretch. TORDAR also made up much ground to close stoutly. VANDANELL weakened near the end. AMERICAN PLAN stopped badly in the stretch. MILITANT MISS failed to keep up in the first part but improved her position when put to the test in the stretch, and taking command aftec entering the last furlong won under urging. SCRATCHIN OFF saved ground where possible and closed gamely in a good effort. DANGEROUS ALP was in close quarters at the start but came strongly on the inside through the stretch under hard riding. TEE VEE had the most early speed and repelled TEXAN SIGH on the stretch turn to hold him to the end. CADILLAC KING bore out badly on the stretch turn. Overweight— Cadillac King, 1 pound. AIR MAIL soon went to the front and drawing away from the others leaving the backstretch, saved ground thereafter and was not seriously threatened by SILVER K, although ridden out to the end. SILVER K was rather badly outrun to the stretch, then came strongly and was gaining. PRINCESS ANN moved up to the leader on the inside nearing the far turn but was not good enough. WINDWHISPER was rated some distance back of the pacemakers to the stretch, then moved up strongly on the outside to get to the front near the end and win drawing out. DUBUQUE had the most early speed and racing on the inside of REBUS, held a narrow advantage over the latter most of the way. REBUS displayed good early speed and held on well. COMPANY B. followed the early pace closely and moving strongly on the outside of EVERETT JR. after entering the stretch, forged to the front of him in the last sixteenth to win, slowly drawing out. TUOSIX was outrun to the stretch, then came to the outside to finish steadily in a splendid effort. EVERETT JR. went to the front early and showed his usual good speed while saving ground and held on with a fair amount of courage when challenged. HOMESTAKE was rather badly outrun early, but finished strongly under hard riding to catch HOOP RING in the last stride and finished in a dead-heat with the latter. J100P RING weakened. HILL GAIL moved to prominence soon after the start and, responding to hand riding after entering the stretch, moved up on the outside of PRINCESS LYGIA to challenge, encountered stiff opposition from the latter and was unable to head her until the last thirty yards, when he forged to the front and was increasing his scant advantage slowly at the end. PRINCESS LYGIA dashed to the front early and, saving ground while making the pace, held on with splendid courage when challenged. ELJAY raced well up in the first half mile and while overshadowed by the first two in the stretch run, had enough left to hold SUB FLEET. The latter was not taken far removed early and was racing steadily cit the finish. COFFEE MONEY turned in a creditable race. The others were outpaced. WHIRL HOME was hard held while trailing in the. first part, improved his position gradually when ready and, although coming wide in the stretch, loomed as a likely winner in the last sixteenth, but was unable to hold CHINKAPIN. BOOTS HAVEN took command when ready in the last quarter and held on well. ALS BOURBON made his move entering the stretch, then faltered. ZINC, ROUGH ME, and BULLISH tired when it came to an issue.
