Sextet Seeks Arlingtons Cinderella Gala Fete to Meet Up With Jacodema Walmac Miss Has Won Last Five Races, Sky Maid Goes After Fourth Tally in Row ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, HI., June 22. — Six fillies and mares, four years and older, will take part in the featured Cinderella Purse here tomorrow. They will compete over the six-furlong distance for a purse of ,500 and the majority of the sextet have been seen in action on Chi-cagoland courses in the past. Topping the list as far, as weight assignments are concerned, are Jacodema and Gala Fete, each of whom will carry 120. Weights then range downward from 116 on Free, For Me to 113 each on Bella Figura and Elaine Ruth to 111 on Sky Maid. Gala Fete, owned by Walmac Farm, was an impressive winner at six furlongs early in the Lincoln Fields session when she was heavily backed, and trimmed Recline, stop Gap, Tihitian, Mon-Pharo, and Spur On. She is a classy miss and has a win streak of five going for her toworrow. Elaine Ruth failed to score at the last meeting. Sky Maid was victorious in her last three starts, all at the Lincoln session. She was handled by Kenneth Church, who will be on her in the Cinderella. Brownell Combs Bella Figura, a Count Fleet miss, has started but once since last year, and was a good second to Princess Lygia with whom she was coupled. Last season, she was regarded as one of the best of the three-year-old fillies hereabouts and finished second to Calumetj Farms great Real Delight in the Arlington Matron and was third back of the same filly in the Cleopatra. She breezed three-eighths in Yll/s for tomorrows race, and will be ridden by John Adams. Arcaro to Ride Jacodema Jacodema will have Eddie Arcaro in the saddle and that fact alone gives her a royal chance. Her only start this season was at Hialeah where she finished fiird. She* was a stakes winner last year. A band of 15 two-year-olds, many of them eligible for Arlingtons two big juvenile future stakes, the Futurity and Lassie, have been entered in the fourth race. The ,500 event has been carded at five furlongs Among those entered are Edward Goemans Irish-bred Gamest, Robert E. Nims Natchez Girl, Red and Green Stables Lovin Lady, Sam E. Wilson, Jr.s Admirals Pet, and Calumet Farms Miz Clementine. This mornings workouts show Natchez Girl went three-eighths in :37 breezing, and Gamest, :38 breezing. Miz Clementine turned in a 1:03 breezing for five furlongs the morning before. Wednesdays program will be highlighted by the seventh running of the 5,000 added Artful Stakes, six-furlong event for three-year-old fillies. Calumet Farms Bubbley and Mrs. Ada L. Rices Cerise Reine head ah impressive list of nominees for the Artful. This pair, considered top candidates for three -year-old filly honors this year, have been carrying on a track-to-track stakes duel. Cerise Reine holds a two-to-one edge in the competition. Saturdays 0,000 added Equipoise Mile will round out the first week of racing at Arlington. Many of the better handicap runners on the grounds, including Hill Gail, Sub Fleet, Jampol, Smoke Screen, Squared Away, and Dry Run have been named for that event. Racing secretary Kilroe said today that he will announce the complete list of nominations for three more Arlington stakes tomorrow. They are the 5,000 added Pol-lyarma, five and one-half furlongs for .two-year-old fillies; 5,000 added Warren Wright Memorial, seven furlongs for three-year-olds; and the 5,000 added Stars and Stripes Handicap, mile and one-eighth turf event for horses three and older.
