LILLY VALENTI, a sharp factor from the start, raced nearest AMABALA until the inside the stretch, took command from the latter after passing the furlong pole, and continued willingly while drifting out to withstand PEU-A-PEU. The latter gradually worked way forward, closed gamely under punishment but could not reach the winner. A foul claim against LILLY VALENTI by PEU-A-PEUS rider was not allowed by the stewards. AMABALA went to the front early, set the pace until inside the stretch but faltered when challenged by LILLY VALENTI. BLOOM, on the outside throughout, could not better her position when set down through the stretch. DIXIE FLYER went wide entering the stretch and failed to rally when straightened for the drive. BATED BREATH was outrun. ROUND N ROUND was never prominent and had no mishap. AUNTIE lacked early foot. CROWNLET could not keep up. EVER BRIGHT, sore during the post parade, failed to stay after racing well to the stretch. SWEET PATOOTIE was through early. Scratched— 89503 Asphalt, 110.
