ABSTRACT, unhurried while improving position gradually, moved with a rush after six furlongs, assumed command after circling the field, attempted to bear in, was quickly straightened and responded to steady pressure to hold ARIEL SWEEP safe. The latter followed in close attendance of the pace, assumed command when roused, proved a stubborn foe but was not good enough. ISLE OF PEACE moved up readily leaving the backstretch, engaged the leaders but was not good enough. GUMPTIOUS saved ground to no avail. HIERAPOLIS weakened after losing the lead. CENSORSHIP, in hand while outrun early, moved rapidly to near the pace into the stretch, closet resolutely under steady pressure and just missed. HYOPOLIS came around horses to challenge for the lead anc suddenly swerved to the outside causing him the race. PONTALBA showed a good effort LEES BABY weakenec after losing the lead.
