Pleased Over Gushen Award SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 22. — Robert O. Read, national president of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, wired Gerry Sullivan, president of the New England Turf Writers Association, stating "the HBPA is highly pleased and honored that our New England vice-president Iriving Gushen has been named to receive your associations annual award as the person contributing to New England racing during the year.
