Delaware Notes DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 1. Cornelius V. Whitneys Little Dell, an easy winner here on opening day, will make his next start in Saturdays 5,000 added Kent Stakes. The son of Mahmoud and Little Saint impressed by his four lengths victory over the mile and a sixteenth distance and picked up considerable support for the week end fixture. Oliver Cutshaw will ride. Former jockey Johnny Gilbert, the countrys leading rider in 1932, registered Slim, Good Tune and Dixie Prince for owner Gene Iannelli of Allentown, Pa. Gilbert, who turned to training when he injured his back in a spill, will maintain his public stable at Garden State Park and van to the Stanton course. Thorncliff Farms. Rock Cottage, victor of the Riggs Handicap over Pimlicos turf course, arrived from Maryland on Tuesday. The son of Hierocles and -Best Family is trained by Jim Arthur. Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Subahdar, third in the Suburban Handicap, and Mr. Jeffords Hibernia were among the latest arrivals from Belmont Park. Hibernia, a candidate for the "distaff big three," was unplaced in the Coaching Club American Oaks, her last outing. Ada L. Rices Nimble Doll and Snugger joined the strong Chicago-owned stable at Delaware Park following their engagements at Garden State Park. The fillies are candidates for the filly and mare specials at the Stanton track. Louis Lee Haggin n.s Hen Party, fourth in the Coaching ciub American Oaks, was included in the eight-horse shipment which trainer Joe Kramer transferred here from Belmont Park. Jockey Roger Leblanc returned from Boston where he reported for a physical examination requested by the military services. Mrs. J. R. H. Thourons Fast and Far will make his next start in Saturdays Kent Stakes. The Count Fleet colt will be ridden by Jack Westrope, leading rider of the 1954 Delaware Park meeting. Justin Funkhousers promising two-year-old fillies, All Impulse and Cubed Ice were bedded down at Delaware Park. The fillies made the short haul from the Camden track over the week end and will be pointed for the 0,000 added Polly Drum-moned-Stakes on June 8. Larry S. McPhails Rose Carillon and Victory Medal were among the seven ju-venils to arrive from Pimlico under the care of trainer Joe Serio, Jr. Rose Car-rillon and Victory Medal won their only starts at the Maryland track and are being pointed for the 0,000 Polly Drummond Stakes on Wednesday, June 8. Four thoroughbreds, property of the Beacon Stable of Charles J. Hesse, Jr., were registered yesterday by trainer Bill Mitchell. The quarter included The Posse, a scheduled starter in Wednesdays Mont-chanin Handicap. Mitchell will remain at Garden State with the horses and van to the Stanton course to fulfill engagements. Walter Blum, one of the leading riders at Garden State Park, has been engaged to handle John H. Clarks Mabe Cee in the Polly Drummond. The Fighting Step filly finished third in the Rancocas Stakes in her last start.
